PowerCube-XP Contains these
High-current Devices

  • Master Solenoid
  • Starter Solenoid
  • Alternator Output Lead
  • Current Sensor (shunt)
  • 100 Amp Main Fuse
  • 60 Amp Alternator Fuse
  • Fuses for Volt & Amp Metering

PowerCube-XP contains the components listed above as well as a fused constant power output for a clock or cabin lighting – All in a compact (5 x 5 x 3 inches*) aluminum box to be mounted near the battery.

The big wires for the battery, starter, alternator B lead, & breaker panel connect at the bottom of the unit. The control wiring is handled by a DB-9 connector (on the right side of the box, see photo above) to make installation quick and easy.

It saves you time and effort. Just mount to your firewall with 4 screws, connect the big wires and plug in the DB-9 connector and you’re done!

Here’s a Block Diagram:

Basically, the PowerCube-XP takes all the individual components, solenoids, fuses, etc found on a typical firewall, like this (outlined by the yellow box):

Before

And makes it like this… (it’s a different airplane but you get the idea):

After

All of those individually-mounted electrical components are now neatly packaged in a compact aluminum box, keeping them out of harms way and greatly reducing arcing hazard. The lid comes off with two 4-40 socket-head screws giving excellent access to wiring and fuses.

You connect one big wire from the battery and one to the starter. Then there is the alternator output (the white wire in this pic) and one other that goes to your breaker panel (not shown in this pic). That’s it, 4 wires. And of course the control wiring is handled by the DB-9 connector (upper right). You hook up the other end at your instrument panel.
