Electrical Products & Services for
Experimental Aircraft

What we DO

We provide a full range of services:

  • Fabrication – From individual components to the whole panel, we can build it for you.
  • Coaching – Not sure how to do something? We can help get you pointed in the right direction.
  • Planning & System Design – We can help you navigate the myriad of choices around manufacturers, mission profile, avionics, budget, etc.

What we THINK

We think electrical systems should be:

  • Fault Tolerant – Failure of any single component should not create an emergency
  • Reliable
  • Easy to operate
  • Easy to repair & maintain
  • Made from standard components that are readily available
  • Cost Effective

The Electrical system in an experimental aircraft doesn’t need to be really complicated, or it can be as advanced as the flight deck of a 787.  The choice is yours.

Our services run the full range from a little coaching to get you headed in the right direction to fabricating turn-key panels that are ready to install in your airframe.  We will even be there for the installation if you want.

Aircraft electrical systems break-down into 3 general categories:

Power Distribution

This is the heart of the electrical system.  It gets the electricity to the gizmos and accessories that need it.  It handles all of the high-current stuff like batteries, starters, alternators, and circuit-protection devices like circuit breakers and fuses.

Radios

Comm radios, Navigation radios, GPS,  Transponders,  and their antennas.  Care must be taken here to prevent radio noise and mistakes can be expensive.

Display & Control

If Power Distribution is the heart of the system then this is the Nervous System.  EFIS, engine monitors, autopilots, controls, switches & indicators.  This is where everything is inter-connected and a thoughtful integration is the difference between a system which is effective and easy to use and one that becomes a configuration nightmare.

Each of these areas requires careful consideration to reach a specification that meets your personal preferences, mission profile and budget.  Then we create a design based on sound engineering principles and best practices.
